How to Apply for a Drip Irrigation Subsidy in Maharashtra?

 Adopting drip irrigation techniques is an advantageous decision as it helps you grow more in less, andaugments your faming income. However, since drip irrigation demands a significant investment, the Indian government offers a drip irrigation subsidy in every state. In Maharashtra, farmers with land holding of more than 2 hectares get 45% subsidy, and those with less than 2 hectares are entitled to get 55%. The Process to Apply for a Drip Irrigation Subsidy in Maharashtra

Let us now look at the steps to apply for drip irrigation subsidy in Maharashtra.

  1. Visit https://mahadbtmahait.gov.in/ (Image No 4 in the PDF)

  2. Click on the Farmer Schemes tab at the right side. (Image No 6 in the PDF)

  3. Click on the New Applicant Registration Tab to register yourself as a new farmer on the right side. The section requires your name (as on the Aadhar Card), the desired user ID, type an alphanumeric password.Additionally, it requires you to verify your mobile number (mandatory) and email ID (optional).(Image No 8 in the PDF)

  4. Once you verify your mobile number (mandatory) and email ID (optional), you will get messages as shown from figure one to four. (Image No 9 in the PDF)

  5. After that your new farmer user ID is successfully created. You must always remember your Login ID and password to avoid inconvenience. (Image No 10 in the PDF)

  6. Now, the next step is to create a profile. To do so, go back to Farmer Schemes, and see on the left side. To create your profile, you must login either through your user ID or Aadhar Card. (Image No 12 in the PDF)

  7. You can register a profile without Aadhar (with other documents), or with Aadhar details. Let us look at both the processes step by step.


  • Without Aadhar (If you do not have an Aadhar Card)

  • Login through your user ID. (Image No 16 in the PDF)

  • Click on No, where the system asks you if have an Aadhar Card. (Image No 19 in the PDF)

  • Further, the system asks you if have applied for an Aadhar Card and have a registration number. If you have it, please click on Yes, if not, click on No. Besides, you also see an option if you want to check the application status. (Image No 20)

  • Click on options as shown in the below image (Image No 21 in the PDF)

  • Fill in the required details (Image No 22 in the PDF)

  • Choose the document among the given list as shown in the image (Image No 24 in the PDF)

  • Upload the document in either PDF or JPEG format. (Image No 25 in the PDF)

Please note that without an Aadhar Card, you can only register for the subsidy, but to be eligible to receive the subsidy, you need to have an Aadhar Card,and link your bank account with it. Remember, the facility to register for the subsidy without Aadhar Card is only to provide you with ample time to apply for the Aadhar Card, receive it and then link it with your bank account.


  • With Aadhar Card 

  • Login with your Aadhar Card number (Image No 27 in the PDF)

  • Enter the Aadhar Card number in the given window. You will get an OTP on your number. However, to receive it, you must have mobile number linked with your Aadhar. Once you click on OTP, you get a window with a message. Read the message and click on I Agree. (Image No 28, 29, and 30 in the PDF)

  • Once you complete the above process, the system informs that the OTP has been sent to your mobile number. (Image No 32 in the PDF)

  • Enter the OTP in the window given on the right side, and click on Verify OTP. (Image No 33 in the PDF)

  • Once you do so, you get a message stating that Aadhar registration has been successful. Click on OK. (Image No 34 in the PDF)

  • Thus, you complete partial profile creation.

Complete Profile Creation Process (Up to 35%)

Now, let us look at the complete profile creation process.

  • Click on Farmers Schemes (Image No 37 in the PDF)

  • A message stating that your profile is incomplete will appear on your screen. Click on OK (Image No 39 in the PDF)

  • Click on the Click Here tab to proceed to complete your profile (Image No 40 in the PDF)

  • Click on Update the Information with Aadhar Card validation (Image No 41 in the PDF)

  • Enter your Aadhar number in the window and click on the send OTP tab (Image No 42 in the PDF)

  • Enter OTP and then click on OTP verification tab (Image No 43 in the PDF)

  • Once you do so, you will get a message stating User Profile Updated Successfully. Click on OK (Image No 44 in the PDF)

  • Fill in all the necessary basic information (Image No 45 in the PDF)

  • Follow the instructions as shown in the below image (Image No 46 in the PDF)

  • Once you do that, you get a message stating your profile is now 35% complete

Complete Profile Creation Process (Up to 70%)

Now, let us proceed with the further profile creation completion process.

  • Fill in the necessary address details as shown in the below image (Image No 49 in the PDF)

  • You now complete your profile up to 70% (Image No 50 in the PDF)

Complete Profile Creation Process (Up to 100%)

Complete your profile up to 100% by following these steps.

  • You will get a message on the top of the screen, which is Farmer’s Declaration. Click on OK to proceed (Image No 52 in the PDF)

  • Follow the instructions as shown in the below image, and give the necessary information. i.e. land details (Image No 53 in the PDF)

  • Now, fill in the details of your farm land (Add 8-A and 7/12 details to the farmer profile) (Image No 54 in the PDF)

  • Click on the green tab at the bottom that allows you to save the information you have filled (Image No 55 in the PDF)

  • You will get a message stating, your information is successfully saved. If you have any other 7/12 to add, click on the first option as shown in the below image, or click on proceed to finish profile creation (Image No 56 in the PDF)

  • Thus, your profile creation is 100% complete.

Crop Details

  • Fill in the crop details. Furnish details such as the taluka, city, survey number, season, crop type, and crop, and then click on green icon as shown in the below image to save the information (Image No 60, 61, and 62)

  • You can add more crop details, depending on the number of crops you cultivate season-wise (Image No 63 and 64)

  • Click on Proceed to save crop information successfully (Image No 66)

  • Thus, you save crop information successfully

Important Basic Information about the Application Process

  • You must select all the schemes that you wish to apply for at once

  • Fill in the required information for individual schemes

  • Mention your preference for each scheme you have applied to avail the benefit

  • Click on Apply Now after selecting all the schemes

  • You may be selected based on a lottery system and the availability of funds

Apply for PMKSY

  • Click on the orange icon as shown in the below image to start the application for PMKSY (Image No 69 in the PDF)

  • You will get a pop up and click on OK. (Image No 70 in the PDF)

  • Fill in the necessary details, including water source, power availability, and water lifting equipment and click on Save. (Image No 71 in the PDF)

  • Enter HP details and the number of power sources, and click on Save (Image No 72 in the PDF)

  • You will get a pop up statingyour record has been successfully saved (Image No 73 in the PDF)

  • You can see your water source details as shown in the below image. You can delete it (Image No 74 in the PDF)

  • Click on Apply to apply for other schemes or other components in the schemes selected (Image No 75 in the PDF)

  • You will be redirected to the page from where you began applying for PMKSY. Click on the PMKSY option (Image No 76 in the PDF)

  • You will get a pop up that informs if you want to add more components, you will have to add them individually. Click on OK (Image No 77 in the PDF)

  • Fill in every detail as per your requirement. (Image No 78 – 82 in the PDF)

  • Tick the agreement tab as shown in the below image (Image No 83 in the PDF)

  • You will get a popup indicating that you’ve successfully added the components. If you want to add any more components, click on Yes. If not, click on No. (Image No 84 in the PDF)

  • You may apply for Tiller by clicking on the on the first orange icon as shown in the below image (Image No 85 in the PDF)

  • To apply for all the schemes, click on the blue icon, as shown in the below image (Image No 86 in the PDF)

  • Please read the popup message carefully, and then click on OK. (Image No 87 in the PDF)

  • Further, you can see the components that you have added (Image No 88 in the PDF)

  • Additionally, you can also prioritize your component list (Image No 89-91 in the PDF)

  • Finally, make the payment (Image No 92 in the PDF)

  • You can make payment through Wallet, Net Banking, Credit/ Debit Card/ IMPS or UPI (Image No 93 in the PDF)

  • Check the details once and then click on Proceed for Payment (Image No 94 in the PDF)

  • Select the right option for payment of INR 23.60 (Image No 95 in the PDF)

  • You can view your form details as shown in the below image (Image No 97 in the PDF)

Important Points to Remember while Applying for Drip Irrigation Subsidy in Maharashtra

  • You can apply for a drip irrigation subsidy only once in seven years. So, if you have already applied for a drip irrigation subsidy in, say for instance, in the past two years, you cannot reapply before completing the lock in period.

  • Drip irrigation subsidy is applicable for farmers with 10.2 acres of farm land or less than that.

  • The government may terminate or reject your application.

  • Issuance of the subsidy depends on the availability of funds at the government’s end.

  • After you apply, and receive a presanction for uploading the bill invoice of your system purchase, the concerned authorities will visit your farm land and verify every detail that you’ve mentioned in the application.
